Thanks to its smart functionality, most preparations are made automatically, so you only need to make a few simple specifications. LogMeIn is free to try for a limited period of time. It can be installed in just a few seconds, on all popular Windows and Mac OS X versions. The software may need some additional drivers or services when performing certain operations, but it can retrieve them automatically, so you don't have to search for them on the Internet.

The LogMeIn Client is the module you will want on your own computer if you wish to control other machines remotely. If one or more computers are connected to your account, they will show up in a list, on the client's user interface, along with various details and options. To add a new computer, you only need to generate a link, which should be clicked on a host computer.

Once you establish a connection to another computer, its desktop will appear on a separate window, on which you may control the computer as if you were standing right in front of it. To make sure no one connects to a computer without permission, the host module can be set to restrict access with a password and it can be shut down completely to prevent any kind of connection.
